Is anyone else getting impatient with all the Alexis rumors swirling around? If you answered no to that question, you're either full of shit, or hopeful he signs for your club. If it's the latter, you can piss off!
Honestly though, it's getting to the point where it's borderline ridiculous. All of it reminds me of the times when Cesc was being linked with a move back to Barcelona. We had to endure a few Summers of all that bullshit, so a few months of the same with Alexis is bearable right…?!
Some would argue Alexis is our best player, and I'd have to agree with that. Losing your best player is always going to be a step backwards, regardless of who you sign. Unless Ronaldo or Messi come walking out of that tunnel and onto the pristine pitch at the Emirates wearing an Arsenal kit and holding hands with Gunnersauras, I don't care if we sign Lemar, Mbappe, and their cousins, if Alexis leaves, it's a step backwards.
He's accustomed to the Premier League, he's proven he can be influential, and again, he's Arsenal's best player.
Whether he's having a subpar performance or not, you can always count on him to at least put in an effort. Losing his desire and determination would be a major blow.
Sure, what if he does stay, and then goes for free next Summer?! Well, that would obviously suck, but, Arsenal must put their foot down and set the standard here.
Allowing the Chilean to force his way out shows the rest of the squad that the club isn't in charge. Sets the standard for future players who will have a handful of cash waved in front of their nose.
Losing Alexis for free next Summer to essentially anyone, but most likely City, Bayern or even PSG certainly sucks.
What sucks even more is the thought of Arsenal selling him, spending that money on someone who doesn't adapt to the PL, finishing out of the top four again, and being back to the start line wondering where the hell it all went wrong. They did not pass Go, did not collect $200, and had to pay those bullshit utility taxes along the way.
I can't endure another season of mediocrity, listening to the WengerOut brigade and all those Vloggers on Twitter talking about fams and bluds, if that's even how you spell it fam. 🤣
You may be thinking, well, they finished out of the top four this past season with Alexis, so could it get worst?
Nothing is guaranteed in this world except death, taxes, Wenger struggling with his zip, and Mourinho being a twat, so sure, it's possible that Arsenal could keep Alexis and still finish out of the top four. Wouldn't you rather have him knowing that he makes you're chances a hell of a lot better?!
What I'm hopeful will happen is that Arsenal will give him a decent pay raise, one that will make Wenger clench his arsehole just looking at the numbers. As part of the contract, they should stipulate that if Arsenal don't win the Premier League, the club will allow him to leave if an offer is made for let's say £65m.
That may seem low considering Kyle I Can't Defend Walker went for nearly that much, but, it's a gentleman's agreement. You help us back to the top, and if you still want to leave, we'll be willing to make it happen.
If he's worthy of a £50m offer now with 12 months left on his contract, then he's easily worth £65m after signing an extension.
With the Community Shield fast approaching, Arsene Wenger, Ivan Gazidis and Stan Kroenke have some decisions to make. Splash the damn cash to keep Ozil and Alexis. At the end of the day, the investment will be well worth it.
Locking them both down before the season will give everyone a big lift, and could help persuade any last ditch signings to join the Gunners.
Would you please sign the damn contract Alexis!! Please!?!
