Outside The Zip: Mesut Ozil’s Goal Nearly Broke The Internet

With Alexis Sanchez playing in a central role, Mesut Ozil has the opportunity to get forward. With 13 apppearances between the Premier League and Champions League, the German international has seven goals.

His hattrick on matchday 3 against Ludogorets boosts those numbers, but none of them came easy. Working hard again on Tuesday in Bulgaria had another great reward.

Ironically, Alexis played in a wide position, but it goes to show how repetition works.

Last year, Ozil didn’t frequently make those runs from the midfield. With an injury and a red card keeping Giroud out of the squad, the midfield maestro has been forced to adapt. Despite the Frenchman leading the line, Ozil has been so accustomed to making those runs as of late that he just kept testing the Ludogorets back four.

After failing to beat the offside trap minutes earlier, a beautiful pass from Elneny who had just come on finally exposed a high defensive line. Their high line brought back terrible memories of Arsenal’s defensive approach just a few years ago.

Even if you’ve seen the highlights 9,324 times like I have, take a look below and make it 9,325. It’s nearly impossible to get sick of watching this over and over.

Truth be told, had Lionel Messi scored this goal, pundits, analysts and neutrals would have been on excitement overload. Since it was Ozil and he plays for Arsenal, it will quickly be pushed aside.

Carry on, nothing to see here!

Also, have a look at some of the best Tweets that nearly set Twitter on fire! Mesut even took the time to add a tweet of his own.

I’m sure most Arsenal supporters feel the same way Aaron Ramsey did…

Gotta love the relationship Mustafi and Ozil have.
