Going forward, Arsenal has a ton of options, despite some of them being out injured. Even with all those absences in the squad, the Gunners are at the top of the table, looking down at their rivals. The last month or so has obviously been a bit of a struggle for Arsene Wenger’s squad, and it’s clear that they could use a few reinforcements. A serious title push is on the cards for Arsenal, but they’ll need to make a few acquisitions if they want to really make a statement.
There’s been a lot of talk about signing a few different midfielders to fill some gaps, but the idea of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang making his way to North London has all Arsenal fans thrilled. The Gabon international has been scoring goals at a staggering pace, and because of that, his price-tag will be no joke. Latest reports are that the Borussia Dortmund forward will cost a stunning £42 million. When you compare that number to the cost Manchester United paid for Martial, Aubameyang would be an absolute bargain.
A reporter in the Sun broke the news that there has been some contact regarding Aubameyang.
An intermediary has made contact with Dortmund about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang making a move to Arsenal.
Wenger knows the fee is very high – yet this is a striker who can make a massive difference for him and help win the title for the first time in 12 years.
But there is a lot of interest in him.
At the mature age of 26, Aubameyang has developed well since his arrival at Dortmund. He’s been directly involved in more goals than any other player across the continent, and that includes Super-Lewa who has been in great form, Ronaldo, Messi and Suarez. Let that soak in for a bit. To add to that, Aubameyang has 27 goals this season in as many appearances, and he’s added six assists to that stunning number. But we’re not done yet! I’m sure you’ve seen how fast this guy is with and without the ball at his feet?!
Could you imagine lining up against Barcelona in the Champions League Knockout Stage with a front three of Alexis Sanchez, Aubameyang and Theo Walcott with Mesut Ozil pulling the strings behind them? With these four, we’d have pace, creativity, assists, goals and power. Ivan Gazidis, are you listening?
We can be honest about these rumors though. Is this transfer likely? I don’t want to say no because anything is possible, but instead I’ll say that I’m hopeful that Arsene Wenger and the board realize how much this guy would help the squad. He would put Arsenal’s offense on a completely different level, and would give them another dimension that Giroud can’t give them.
I’m a huge fan of Giroud, but we don’t have another lethal weapon available if he’s not firing on all cylinders. Walcott is inconsistent in front of goal, and we can’t always put all the pressure on Alexis. I won’t even talk about Welbeck because he’s turning into Diaby with his constant set backs. While he even be back this season?
The transfer window just opened, but Arsene Wenger mentioned he’s looking to make some moves within the next 10-days. I like the approach, and I’m hopeful that when he pulls out his wallet, he’ll splash the cash on the right options. Even if Arsenal only sign two players this month, if they are the right options, it could send a serious statement to everyone else in the league.
Arsenal is back b*tches, and Arsene Wenger is ready to bring that EPL title back to Arsenal FC. Get that checkbook out guys, it’s time to get serious!
